February 2006 Excerpt from Laurie's book, Kahuna ARCH® Healing, A Bridge Back to Oneness

It's been almost 2 and half years since I've been having non-duality Oneness consciousness. I now know that all of my experiences, including the ones in this book, have been "A Bridge Back to Oneness." In the end, all of my amazing experiences were just an illusion of separation.

After my initial non-duality oneness experience, I found myself flowing back into that state for up to five days at a time. During these 'episodes' of non-duality I found it difficult to function in my every day life and I lacked the motivation to come out of that state. I did not easily sense my body and even walking was challenging, not to mention driving a car. Initially, I found it difficult to have thoughts during non-duality awareness.

I remember my then six-year-old twins asking me to get them breakfast, but I simply could not respond and had no clue what 'breakfast' meant. Another time they wanted dinner and again I could not pull myself out of it (they eventually helped themselves to rice cakes, dried seaweed and baby carrots). During these early stages my tongue would also feel like it was swollen, and even if I could form thoughts I found it difficult to speak. It seemed like I had to catch myself before I sunk too far into that level of consciousness where I could not function. Eventually my body got more and more used to the non-duality Oneness frequency and I could, more or less, function in that state. Since closing my eyes usually brought it on, I was not able to meditate. This initially really bothered me because I was used to having incredible experiences while meditating, and also because I had no experience of any higher power outside of myself while experiencing oneness with everything. I did, and still do, have a knowing of higher knowledge.

I now live in a state of non-duality Oneness. I can change the field of vision, like a camera lens, to be in the state of total non-duality or to focus back in the body and to be in this world, but not of it. My students noticed the change in me and started calling me "The Teacher Formally Known as Laurie." Some, including Kahuna Lokahi, call me Ho'okahi (Oneness). It does not matter what you call me, since we are all one and me as a separate being is an illusion.

About one in ten million people all over the world experience true non-duality Oneness. No matter what their religious background, culture, education or socioeconomic status, all of them (including me) seem to experience the exact same thing when it happens. This includes a loss of awareness of the body, of thought, and of time, and is accompanied by a feeling of bliss and of being one with everything, including the Source. There is also no motivation to do anything but to be in that state. After this experience, for most people, there is no "source" outside; all is one. They dream only 1-2 times a month, but the dreams tend to be profound!

Talking or thinking about the experience will bring it back on. Initially it can be challenging to maintain one's balance when walking, and one's tongue may feel swollen (we don't know why). One realizes that surrounding 'objects' are simply impressions of things. I sometimes chuckle at tables and chairs pretending to be tables and chairs instead of the energy that they really are. Most people who have non-duality oneness experiences no longer follow the dogma of a religion (because they know the truth), but they may participate in the spiritual or religious rituals if they enjoy them. Most people are kinder, gentler people afterwards and want to tell everyone about their experience. However, because of the very nature of non-duality oneness, it is beyond words.

The following is a list of people, past and present, who have talked about the experience and state of "oneness":

The ancient Kahuna knew that we were all one with The Source (ke Akua) as is everything and everyone.

The state of non-duality Oneness has been called 'the highest level of enlightenment" by Buddhists and "the highest level of human consciousness" by Christians. Many of our spiritual teachers have experienced this state.

Bernadette Roberts: "Everyman's first goal is to realize his oneness with God" (The Path to No Self, by Bernadette Roberts)

Jesus: "The Father and I are one" and "the kingdom of heaven is within." (Bible)

Krishna: "The secret of life is that I (God) permeate all the universe" (Bhagavad-Gita)

Mata Amritanandamay: "…seeing nothing as a past from my own self, a single unity and merging in the Divine Mother" (Mata Amritanandamayi by Swami Amritatma Chaitanya)

Meister Eckhart:  "…I discover that God and I are one" (Breakthrough: Meister Eckhart's Creation Spirutuality in New Translation, by Matthew Fox

Peace Pilgrim:  "…a oneness with that which permeates all and binds all together and gives life to all. A oneness with that which many would call God" (Peace Pilgrim)

Sai Baba: "I am God, so are you. The only difference is that I know it and you doubt it" (Religion of Love Teachings)

Siddhartha (Buddha):  "…heaven and earth with all their inhabitants and moreover God himself is in man." (Dharma &endash; Katta &endash; Ppavattana Sutra)

Sri Ramana Maharshi: "…the One Self, the Sole Reality, alone exists eternally" (The Collected Works of Ramana Maharshi edited by Arthur Osborne

Yogananda: "Thou art I, I am thou, knowing, knower, known, as One!" (Autobiography of a Yogi)

Many religions have been built around some of these master teachers, who said that Oneness with God/The Source applies to all of us, but many of those religions have made it just about that one person. Again, the ancient Hawaiians knew this to be for everyone and treated everything accordingly.

It's time now for all of us to come back to the truth of who we are. Imagine how the world would be if we all lived as if we were one and honored the Divine Essence in everyone.
